About our Herd
While stationed at Camp LeJeune, in North Carolina, we spotted a Boer Goat herd just outside of a little town called Maysville. We thought they were interesting animals and began discussing the idea of owning goats ourselves.
Fast forward years later in 2011, we decided to buy two Boer does of our very own and fell in love with the breed.
In 2013, thanks to the help of our friends at Locust Haven Boer Goats, we were on our way to building a herd of these wonderful animals. Since then, we have been striving to produce quality animals that will be positive contributions to other breeders, as well as kids participating in 4-H.
What we feed:
Our herd has access to pasture and is fed Orchard Grass hay, Purina Show Chow for Goats Also, Ultralyx loose minerals and protein blocks are out for them to eat at their leisure. We try to meet every nutritional need in order to keep them in the best health possible.
Expectant females are given Aureomycin 4G crumbles throughout their pregnancy as a kidding disease preventive. And because we are in a selenium deficient state, they are also given a shot of Bo-Se about 21 days before delivery, along with a CD&T injection.
The care of our herd is taken VERY seriously. We believe that disease stems from dis - ease; therefore, we do our best to provide them with good nutrition and a clean, stress free environment.
We truly love our goats and enjoy spending quality time with them.
